Nivedita from Beauty At Times is Skin Deep has asked me about my skin care routine. I should have done this post long back, but somehow it got delayed. So, apologies Nivedita for the delay.
This post is about my skin care routine, the products I use and also some healthy skin tips I personally follow. Also, beware it’s a long post.
Firstly, before you even think about external skin care, think about the needs of your skin internally.
Drink Water: Everyone knows this fact, but rarely do people follow. Common it’s not any hard to follow habit. Keep a bottle beside and keep sipping water every 20 minutes. It’s that simple. You don’t have to gulp down glasses and glasses of water forcing yourself.
Balanced Diet: Being a foodie myself I will never follow or suggest to stop eating what you like. All I suggest is balance it properly. If you like Biryani, go ahead and enjoy it. But for the rest of the day make sure you are balancing it with fresh fruits or salads.

Sleep: Being nocturnal I always end up working late, resulting in less sleep. But, I am really working to change this habit. My goal about sleeping is simple, follow a routine. It doesn’t matter when you are waking up and when you are sleeping just make sure you are maintaining the same timings daily to get 6-8 hours of sleep.

Stay Active: Whatever size you might be it doesn’t matter as long as you are comfortable with it. But working out in any way for a minimum of 15 minutes daily increases your blood circulation and it definitely shows in your skin.
Now coming to the external care, I follow the widely popular CTM routine strictly along with that, some weekly pamperings.
Cleansing
Routine: Twice Daily
Current Products: Nature’s Co White Pepper Cleansing Lotion and Dove Beauty Moisture Face Wash.
Toning
Routine: Twice Daily

Current Products: Avon Solutions Hydra Radiance Revitalizing Toner/ Nature's Co Rose Hydrating Facial Mist.
Moisturization
Routine: As I have dry skin, I moisturize as and when required.

Current Products: Olay Moisturizing Cream / Clean & Clear Skin Balancing Moisturizer. As a night cream slathering Vaseline is giving me good results.
Sunscreen
Routine: Before stepping out in the sun. I usually use moisturizer on dry areas of my face and use sunscreen directly for the rest of the face.
Current Products: Just Herbs Sun’nil Sun Protection Lotion / Lotus Herbals Safe Sun 3-in-1 Matte-Look Daily Sunblock SPF 40
Scrubbing
Routine: Weekly twice and only during hair wash days. Skin will be more soft due to soaking in water for long time, so helps in easy exfoliation.
Mini Facial
Routine: Weekly once. I use a massage gel and rub it into the skin for few minutes. After 20 minutes I use a face pack. This cleanses. nourishes and refreshes my skin from deep within.

Current Products: Just Herbs Aloevera Facial Massage Gel and Just Herbs Petal Soft Anti Tan Rose Face Pack
Bleaching
Routine: Once in every 30-45 days. I feel it removes the external tan well and also cleanses skin thoroughly. Have been using it for almost 6 years and never noticed any harm to skin. If you are beginners, don’t forget about the Patch Test before trying any bleach directly on face.
So, that sums up my routine. I keep trying out new products, so the products might change but this routine remains the same. Any change or delays in this routine immediately shows a difference in my skin in terms of smoothness or complexion. Hope this post helps

Oh, before you leave….don’t forget to drink minimum 3 liters of water daily.
