An Insight into 'Ombre Trend'

The term 'Ombre' has been there since some time in the Beauty World and I am sure most of us have already tried it without being aware of it. Even I heard about it very recently and some research over Google helped me to understand better. It's so much fun to work with and a great way of exploring one's creativity with colors.

So, let's get to the 'Whats & Hows' of the 'Ombre Trend' in Beauty without any further ado.

What is Ombre?
OMBRE!!! A french word pronounced as 'Om-br-ay'  basically means 'Shaded'. It is implemented as a gradual progression of colors from lighter to darker shades or vice-versa.

How?

Ombre Hair:  'Darker Roots & Lighter Ends'.  If you have dyed your hair with a lighter color then just grow your roots out. This is the most inexpensive way of getting the Ombre Hair. The professional method is to dye hair with 2-3 colors using the lightest shade at the hair ends.

Ombre Nail Art: Sponging method is the best way to implement Ombre Art on Nails. It helps the colors to overlap well and hence gives the perfect graduation in colors. Choose the right colors, grab a sponge and you will be all set to get Ombre Nails. Beginners who are wondering about Sponging can refer here

Usually the tips are kept dark but again there is no hard and fast rule for creativity. So here is another way of Ombre Nails.

Ombre Eyes: It's usually created using a dark color at the lash line which turns lighter as you progress towards the crease area. The smokey eyes created with lighter shades at the inner corner and darker shades at the outer corner can also be considered as being Ombre.

You will definitely need a good blending brush to create well shaded colors. My recent attempt at Ombre eyes can be checked here

Ombre Lips: Take a look at the below picture and it will explain everything. The look in the picture might look good on models walking the ramp but for daily use it would be very bold.

So, if you are not confident to carry this just rewind your memory and go to the 90's lip trend. Yes, I am talking about the dark liner and light lip color trend. But for Ombre one might need 2-3 lip colors.

Ombre Clothes: The Fashion Designers must be having a ball playing with colors to create the Ombre Clothes. From scarves to skirts, shirts, pants..you name it, and it's there in every piece of clothing.

It's a perfect way to cover the flaws and to give the illusion of a proportionate body. Remember how dark shades are slimming? So, simply use dark shades for covering the problem areas like tummy, hips, thighs etc. Similarly vertically shaded clothing can make one look taller and slimmer.

But Ombre is not restricted to only the Beauty & Fashion industries. It's widely practiced in all the artistic worlds involving colors. Here's is something tempting ;)

What say ladies Ombre is pretty fun and interesting right? Did you try Ombre knowingly or unknowingly? If yes drop a comment about what you tried :)

Happy Preening
