Maybelline Eye Studio Vivid and Smooth Eye Liner - Metallic Silver ~ Review, Swatch and 'Eye Clicks'

What Maybelline says about the Vivid & Smooth Eye Liner?
  • Vivid color and Smooth Application ensure that eyes will never be dull again
  • Available in 12 stunning shades to match your every mood
  • So easy to apply, you can now be your own make up artist!

    Price:  200 INR for 30ml

    Look & Feel:

    • Texture: Smooth and gliding. The tip is not too soft hence not prone to breaking.

    • Package: Nice black package with color strip at the end which helps in easy identification. The wood is good enough to sharpen without trouble.
    • Shade: Metallic Silver. This shade should be paired up well with other liners or eye-shadows but cannot be used as a stand alone liner on Indian Skin tones.

    • Lasting Power? Lasts intact for 5-6 hours post which it starts to fade.
    • Smudge Proof? Sets in seconds and after that stays without smudging and creasing for 5 hours. After 8 hours of wear I noticed that the line has faded and it was all faint trace of shimmer on my eyes.

    • Water Proof? Yes and to an extent soap proof also. So you will need a good makeup remover or baby oil for complete removal.
    • Application? It does glide very smoothly without any tugging or pulling but not as good as the Faces Pencils. People who have used Faces Long Wear pencils will know what I mean :)
    • Finish? Gives a metallic silvery gray finishing which totally justifies the color claims

    Usage Suggestions:

    • Use this as a stand alone liner only if you have very fair non pigmented eye lids
    • Looks amazing when combined with black liner. I wear this combination with black clothes and n*de lips.
    • On the lower lash line it gives a smudged Kajal look :)
    • My favourite use of this is as a shadow base. For smokey eye make-up this looks better than Kajal as it looks more natural and shows the color variations well.

In the above picture left side the eye-shadows are applied on the Metallic Silver Base, on the right side just eye-shadows are swatched.

I have already done an eye look using this as a base. Check it here.

Final Note: For Rs 200 you get gliding colorful decently lasting liners. So definitely worth trying. But pick up unique shades that are not available in Faces or Colorbar eye pencils because comparatively they are much better and almost are in the same price range.
